I purchased an XL and wear a size 14/16 in bottoms. It was a bit difficult to get over my hips but once on it was very comfortable. It's pretty thin but surprisingly does have compression, maybe even better than the regular thong shape wear. I mostly got this because the thong shape wear rolls down. I was worried the straps would be uncomfortable but I barely notice them. I can even use this without a bra as it does give a little lift on top as well.
