This is a unique book. No one single or small team of authors can do justice to the broad discipline of Data Management as it has evolved in today's information age. Ten areas of Data Management have been carefully categorized and each area has been covered seperately by individual experts in the field. Yet each chapter has been covered in a common format so that the book does not comes across as a disjointed assembly of expert opinions. Is this book perfect? No, there is room for improvement in certain chapters but it is in the territory of diminishing returns. In some places there is a tension between comprehensive coverage of a broad area within a few paragraphs and yet keeping it understandable and lucid. I hope DAMA would seek its membership body to research the understandibility of the different chapters. At the same time some chapters are so well written that they hardly need revision. This book gets a hands down five star. It's is an example of outstanding teamwork between outstanding individuals.
