An incredibly innovative book for the clinician!! All providers whether physical therapists, nurses, psychologists, physicians, social workers can benefit from using mind-body therapies as part of their therapeutic arsenal. Specific language to teach patients about breathwork, relaxation techniques, movement therapies, etc.. is one of the highlights of this book. To implement mind-body therapies in practice is much different than understanding it and Dr. McClafferty does such an outstanding job of teaching this in her book. Mind-body medicine is now one of the most effective therapies for patients with acute and chronic conditions that hospitals and practices are now incorporating as part of their standard of care. I find this will also be helpful for patients, as motivation and understanding for a home mind-body practice is encouraged with the extensive evidence and patient stories in this book.
